Soccer

If you look closely at our Christmas morning picture, you’ll see a red package tucked into the tree.  (Santa is big on sneaking things into the tree at our house.)  We thought the boys would see it right away. Instead, we had to send them hunting – explaining that it was in the tree and that it was red.  Even so, it was still quite a hunt.
Eventually, they unwrapped a soccer ball.  It is tempting, you know, to spontaneously unleash a full-fledged game right in the middle of the house, but the doom-and-gloom parents were compelled to implement a no-play zone. Instead, the whole thing was moved to a new venue.

Wide-open space, sunshine, and a ball.  A boy can resist little else — no matter what his age. (If you click on each picture, you can see it more clearly.  That first one with all three boys is a gem.)

Eventually, it was time to go.  As you can see, no one had any fun.

Love all these pics; healthy, handsome boys playing soccer with their loving father… Shots of concentration, shots of joy, shots of young athletes in the air… And of course the tender moment between father and son when a hug is exchanged… But my favorite picture is the one of Maddy clearly believing that she is a major player in the game. I love dogs.

Are you so busy eating healthy and exercising that you have no time to update this blog? Going into withdrawal…

Methinks I may have created a monster. An hour or two of pseudo soccer with a partially deflated volleyball prior to your grass install is obviously the culprit. Glad to see all three ‘boys’ are into it.
